There is no one who finds their teenage years a stress free or easy time. Adolescent stress is common and can be linked to any number of different factors. There are the hormonal shifts which mark puberty, learning to deal with their developing minds, bodies and emotions and the pressure associated with realizing that they are growing up and starting to make choices about their lives. All of these things can cause an adolescent stress and anxiety.

All of the following situations or events are stressful for adolescents:

- parents separating

- moving

- starting at a new school

- death in the family

- conflicts with their teachers, their parents or their classmates

- starting or ending their early romantic and/or sexual relationships

- having sex for the first time

- family problems, including an illness in the family

- their family experiencing financial problems

- living in a neighborhood which is dangerous

- the physical changes to their bodies which accompany puberty

- being pressured to succeed atcademically (by teachers, parents, peers or themselves)

- low self esteem and a poor self image

Of course, all of these things could cause stress in adults too. Adolescents, however have less control over their lives and tend to cope with stress differently than do adults.

Every teenager experiences stress. They may show this by:

- irritability and mood swings

- anxiety, worrying

- withdrawal, avoiding other people

- drug or alcohol use

- physical illness

There are methods which adolescents can use to control stress. So0me give teens near-immediate relief from stress but others are a long term strategy to achieve stable hormonal levels and emotional balance.

- watching or reading something humorous

- listen to music which relaxes you

- talking with close friends and playing with pets

- get regular exercise

- eat healthily, including a variety of vegetables in your diet

- avoid stimulants and other chemicals (coffee, tea, cola, chocolate, sugar, tobacco, alcohol and drugs), especially when experiencing stress

- learning relaxation techniques, including deep breathing

- practice yoga, tai chi or meditation

- learning to communicate with others in a way which is assertive but not threatening. This involves learning to clearly communicate how you feel or what you want

- if you do not know where to start with a task, break it down into smaller parts and do them one by one

- stop negative thinking in its tracks and replace it with positive affirmations

- do not indulge in imagining all the bad things that might happen

If you’re experiencing a lot of stress and you are finding your quality of life or even your physical health negatively affected, you may benefit from stress management training. This training will teach you some of the techniques listed above and help you learn to reduce stress almost as soon as it arises.

Keep in mind that a certain degree of stress is only natural and we all experience it at times. What matters is how you deal with stress ? adolescent stress does not have to overshadow everything else in your life.

This period of worry will ultimately come to an end, quite a lot of us spend time worrying about something that happens in our lives but for many of us however. However this does not mean that everyone is in the clear and that everyone has the right to live a worry free life. There are individuals who devote most of their lives to their worries which are a component of their anxiety symptoms and form an endless cycle which may lead to anxiety disorder.

Stop Anxiety Attacks
Surprisingly anxiety is not known as a physical disorder, instead it is referred to as a mental disorder. Symptoms of anxiety may be exhibited physically as well as emotionally or mentally. When our brain alerts us to a immediate perceived threat, an anxiety order may occur. In this situation your body will ready itself for a fight or flight reaction. Your heart, lungs and other parts of your body will work faster and produce stress hormones and adrenaline to cope with that time period.

Anxiety Attack Cure
This in turn can activate diarrhea, rapid heartbeat, abdominal discomfort, palpitations, shortness of breath, tightness and pain in the chest region, dizziness, difficulty swallowing and even frequent urination. Anxiety disorders can cause severe physical as well as mental problems.

Panic Attack Treatments
To concentrate on various day to day tasks, a fear of madness, a fear of losing your mind and mental faculties, as well as the sense of being detached from reality and not having the ability to control your actions, when the psychological anxiety symptoms on the other hand include insomnia, irritability and anger that makes the inability.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr2sgj1i4sU

You may experience emotional symptoms too, besides the anxiety symptoms. Your present situation set aside you will always feel as if you are at unease and not able to rest. Pressure at work, family issues and disagreements with friends are some of the many stressful situations that can lead to someone experiencing anxiety. Then your anxiety symptoms may rear their heads due to being anxious about an illness, real or imagined. Dangerous threats will always trigger a response from your body. Can and will increase your anxiety symptoms dramatically, all of these emotional stresses.Your doctor must be able to diagnose your complaint, when you first experience anxiety. It is up to your doctor to determine if your condition is in fact mental or medical, do not relay on yourself or friends to let you know. Once you have been identified as having an anxiety disorder, treatment to cure or control your condition may be begun.

If they are of a prolonged or severe state or if the feelings of anxiety come into existence and when there is nothing dangerous or stressful to bring them about, the symptoms started above may be considered as anxiety symptoms. Then if these anxiety symptoms start to interfere with your everyday life and activities like work or social events then you know for certain that you are suffering from anxiety disorder.

Although you might suspect yourself to be suffering from anxiety symptoms it’s always a good idea to get your self-diagnosis confirmed by a qualified medical practitioner who can then start you on the proper course to cure you.

Have you noticed that people in general these days are more anxious and have to contend with ever increasing levels of stress and anxiety in their lives. And while there are many conventional treatment options for someone suffering with anxiety, there are also a number of very effective techniques and methods you can implement yourself that will make a big difference in your ability to cope with the anxiety in your life.

Of course if your condition is a serious one these do it yourself treatments may not be enough and you will need the support of your chosen health care professional. However, oftentimes these additional self help methods can dramatically increase the results of whatever anxiety treatment option you chose while at the same time increasing your general sense of wellbeing while you are being treated.

Probably the simplest self treatment option for anxiety is exercise. It has been proven scientifically that regular exercise can have an incredibly powerful regulating and balancing effect on our bodies and minds. In fact one of the most effective forms of treatment for depression and anxiety is regular exercise.

There are a number of very positive effects that exercise can have on an anxiety sufferer.

Exercise increases energy levels which can help anyone’s sense of well-being and especially so in the case of someone who suffers with anxiety. When we are anxious we tend to “burn” energy at higher levels because of the increased physiological activity due to being in a state of anxiety and nervousness.

For someone who is constantly anxious exercise can help to reduce their levels of anxiety and nervous tension thereby freeing up a lot of the energy that is being used by the body when it is in and nervous and agitated state.

A regular routine of reasonable intense exercise will generate the release of endorphins into a system. Endorphins are often referred to as happy hormones because they make us feel good. And one of the surest ways to create a release of endorphins and experience an exercise high is to actually exercise.

If you are someone who suffers with chronic anxiety there is an excellent chance that you will also be suffering with chronic physical pain. The reason for this is fairly obvious. Someone who is chronically anxious will have chronically tight muscles. Some forms of exercise such as yoga, are very effective in relieving anxiety by working directly with the tight muscles of the body.

Now if you are thinking that doing exercise on a regular basis sounds like it’s going to be a lot of work keep in mind that any kind of regular physical activity will help with your anxiety.

And if your level of fitness or exercise know-how is stopping you from beginning an exercise program don’t make that something else for you to worry about.

All you need to do is to simply get going. Of all the exercise is out there walking is probably the best to you to start with. As you get fitter and stronger and more confident with physical activity you can start looking at other more exciting exercise options.

Today you can take your pick from an unlimited number of exercise and fitness activities both indoors and out. Pilates classes. Boxercise. Abseiling. As unlikely as some of these may seem at the moment when she gets started a whole world of exercise opportunities will open up to you. Some you won’t even have to leave home for as video instruction on a whole range of exercise and fitness methods is now freely available.

Anxiety and the accompanying him mental, emotional and physical symptoms and stress that comes with it to be helped dramatically with the implementation of a regular exercise routine.

If you’re looking to begin to make some positive changes in your life that will really make a significant change to your levels of anxiety and worry while increasing your sense of well-being and the quality of your life , begin a regular exercise program now.
