In our fast paced world along with the many things that could complicate our lives, it is just common to worry and concern. Nevertheless, once the worries starts to become a burden, causing you to feel choked up and not in control of your life, this could be a symptom of anxiety disorders.

Anxiety disorder is defined as excessive anxiety and worry, happening frequently for at least 6 months and they can get worse when they aren’t treated. A person experiencing from an anxiety disorder can find it hard to manage the anxiety. Usually, it occurs with some other mental or physical illnesses, such as drug or alcohol abuse, which could mask or worsen the symptoms. Every anxiety disorder has its own symptoms, still, all of these symptoms center on having excessive, unreasonable fear and dread.

Anxiety disorders can take many forms. among the common types of anxiety disorders include: separation anxiety, social anxiety or phobia, selective mutism, panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PSTD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder, and specific phobia.

1. Separation Anxiety – this is an excessive anxiety due to being separated from home or from someone you are attached to. The symptoms are mostly related to the recurrent fear of being separated from someone or something you are so attached with. Symptoms physically manifest as nausea, stomachaches, headaches, or chest pain.

2. Social Anxiety disorder – known as social phobia, it is diagnosed when a person becomes excessively anxious and fearful of social interactions. Under this anxiety disorder, patients feel intense, persistent, and a constant fear of being watched and judged, along with other things that could put them in an embarrassing position. Patients get concerned for days before the actual situation happens and the feeling could worsen, frequently impairing work, school and other activities.

3. Selective mutism – this takes form through consistent failure to speak in a specific social situation where speech is necessary despite of be able to speak in other situations. Research shows a relationship between social phobia and selective mutism.

4. OCD – regarding this type, the individual has continual and unwanted ideas or impulses (called obsessions), along with an impulse or obsession to do something to alleviate their discomfort induced by obsession. An individual with OCD has insensible, continual, distressing, and occasionally harmful habits that are too hard to overcome.

5. PTSD – this comprises a debilitating disorder that comes after a terrifying event. Normally, those who have PTSD have relentless frightening thoughts and retention of the ordeal and feel emotionally insensitive even they’re with people they used to be very close with. Signals and symptoms of this condition oftentimes appear within three months after the tragical event.

6. Panic disorder – this anxiety disorder has brief episodes of intense fear followed by several physical symptoms such as heart palpitations, nausea, chest pain, and many others that occur in many occasions and unknowingly in the absence of external threat.

7. Specific phobia – an extreme fear of specific things or situations, namely heights, water, enclosed places, spiders, and numerous others.

Anxiety disorders are treatable. The sooner you are diagnosed, the better. Once you sense you bear symptoms of anxiety disorders, go to your physician directly to acquire apt treatment. Anxiety disorders could impact your day-to-day life routines and might aggravate once prompt treatment isn’t applied.

This period of worry will ultimately come to an end,quite a lot of us spend time worrying about something that happens in our lives but for many of us however. However this does not mean that everyone is in the clear and that everyone has the right to live a worry free life. There are individuals who devote most of their lives to their worries which are a component of their anxiety symptoms and form an endless cycle which may lead to anxiety disorder.

Stop Anxiety Attacks
Surprisingly anxiety is not known as a physical disorder, instead it is referred to as a mental disorder. Symptoms of anxiety may be exhibited physically as well as emotionally or mentally. When our brain alerts us to a immediate perceived threat, an anxiety order may occur. In this situation your body will ready itself for a fight or flight reaction. Your heart, lungs and other parts of your body will work faster and produce stress hormones and adrenaline to cope with that time period.

Anxiety Attack Cure
This in turn can activate diarrhea, rapid heartbeat, abdominal discomfort, palpitations, shortness of breath, tightness and pain in the chest region, dizziness, difficulty swallowing and even frequent urination. Anxiety disorders can cause severe physical as well as mental problems.

Panic Attack Treatments
To concentrate on various day to day tasks, a fear of madness, a fear of losing your mind and mental faculties, as well as the sense of being detached from reality and not having the ability to control your actions, when the psychological anxiety symptoms on the other hand include insomnia, irritability and anger that makes the inability.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr2sgj1i4sU

You may experience emotional symptoms too,besides the anxiety symptoms. Your present situation set aside you will always feel as if you are at unease and not able to rest. Pressure at work, family issues and disagreements with friends are some of the many stressful situations that can lead to someone experiencing anxiety. Then your anxiety symptoms may rear their heads due to being anxious about an illness, real or imagined. Dangerous threats will always trigger a response from your body. Can and will increase your anxiety symptoms dramatically,all of these emotional stresses.Your doctor must be able to diagnose your complaint, when you first experience anxiety. It is up to your doctor to determine if your condition is in fact mental or medical, do not relay on yourself or friends to let you know. Once you have been identified as having an anxiety disorder, treatment to cure or control your condition may be begun.

If they are of a prolonged or severe state or if the feelings of anxiety come into existence and when there is nothing dangerous or stressful to bring them about, the symptoms started above may be considered as anxiety symptoms. Then if these anxiety symptoms start to interfere with your everyday life and activities like work or social events then you know for certain that you are suffering from anxiety disorder.

Although you might suspect yourself to be suffering from anxiety symptoms it’s always a good idea to get your self-diagnosis confirmed by a qualified medical practitioner who can then start you on the proper course to cure you.

When dealing with stress and its related issues, it is important to realize that some forms of stress can actually be extremely harmful to the body. Since everyone suffers from stresses of some kind, this is a big deal for everyone. Too much stress can lead to serious health disorders. This makes overcoming stress one of the most important skills to have in the world today.

There are many different levels of stress and some are minor, while others can pose serious health risks. Stress can actually lead to many other problems, such as eating disorders, sleep disorders, ulcers, depression, cardiovascular and digestive problems, as well as mental issues. Stress preys on the mind, prompting the sufferer to constantly worry about the pressures that they are under. This can be quite a harmful cycle because they never get a chance to relax or let go of the issues that they are facing. Most people face stressful circumstances throughout a good portion of their lives. Pressures about employment, money, family and many other things can cause stress in a person’s life. If not dealt with in a timely manner, it can build up to such a level that it causes serious health problems in a person’s life. Yet nearly anything can cause stresses. What causes stress for some might not cause any stress for someone else. The important thing is how you deal with it.

Stress can be treated in different ways. While the initial treatment is to learn stress management skills, in many cases it is not enough to see a noticeable change in stress levels. Many health experts believe that high levels can lead to other issues, such as depression and anxiety disorders. Antidepressants are sometimes prescribed for stress and its related cousins. If you suspect that someone you know is suffering from too much stress, or you feel that you are under too much stress, then it might be a good idea to read wellness guides to properly diagnose what you or your loved ones might be going through. The best way to live a stress free life is to learn to let things go. Of course, this can often be extremely hard to do, which is why stress management is a very popular form of therapy. If a stress problem is suspected, then be sure to contact a health professional for an expert diagnosis.

Stress and its related disorders can lead to serious health risks, so it is very important not to ignore the signs. One of the most common treatments is overcoming stress courses, or antidepressants. Since this is a problem that strikes everyone at some point or other, it is important not to overlook the importance of treatments if levels become too high. A health expert can coach someone on the best way to deal with stress.

A certain amount of anxiousness or anxiety is normal, but if your anxiety symptoms begin to rule your life, you may need to start looking for treatment of them. Lots of folks are concerned and feel tense or afraid when looking at a situation that is stressful. It is thought to be our body’s expected response when it feels pressured.

While anxiety is not fun, it can be a positive thing to go through. Anxiety helps a person to stay focused and alert, and help you find motivation. However, if you are controlled by anxiety and it starts taking over your life, it can interfere with relationships and other areas of your life. At this point you have to accept the fact that you may have an anxiety disorder and seek anxiety or panic attack cures.

Anxiety or panic symptoms can be different for everyone. While some will deal with debilitating panic attacks with no warning, others could just get panicky at the thought of something. Still others may live in a constant state of tension where they are concerned about absolutely everything. There is, however, one symptom that all sufferers have: constant or intense fear or worry about things that most people wouldn’t think twice about.

Feeling angry
* Having trouble with concentration
* Having feelings of dread
* Feeling restless
* Feeling tense
* Fearing the worst
* Paranoia
* Tendency to lose your train of thought

In addition to the emotional panic symptoms, there are also physical symptoms that come along with a panic attack. Because these are so numerous, many people think these symptoms are caused by a medical illness. Some physical symptoms of panic attacks are:

* Profuse sweating
* Terrible headaches
* Palpitations
* Upset stomach and /or dizziness
* Inability to sleep
* Urinating frequently and/or diarrhea
* Uncontrollable tremors or ticks
* Tense muscles
* Fatigue
* Shortness of breath

Most panic attacks become most intense within 10 minutes, and normally don’t last more than 30 minutes. While this may not seem to be a very long time, but it does to the one who’s experiencing the symptoms. The anxiety experienced during the attacks can be so intense that victims usually have a feeling of being about to die. The physical symptoms can be so horrible that a lot of people believe they are experiencing a heart attack.

If you are living with any of these anxiety symptoms in a group, or alone, and there does not seem to be a valid reason for them, it will be helpful to seek the advice of a health care professional. There are panic attack cures to help eliminate the symptoms and possibly take away the attacks completely.

Many people all over the world suffer from anxiety disorders and these disorders often cause panic attacks. If you are one of those people, then you know anxiety panic attacks can cause a rush of different emotions; each one more overwhelming than the last. To properly deter an anxiety panic attack you have to first know what they are and what causes them. This article is going to explain what these attacks consist of and how to deal with them when they occur.

An anxiety attack is a symptom of different anxiety disorders. If you suffer from them, then it’s important to understand what they are. An attack is when a person’s anxiety and stress levels balloon to a point where they cannot control it. They quickly begin to fear their surroundings, fear they are dying, having a heart attack, or are going crazy. It is a cognitive episode where your mind will tell your body it is experiencing discomfort that likely doesn’t exist and can last from one minute to fifteen minutes. Often an attack will cause a person to live in fear of the next attack, which only worsens the stress.

Keeping a cool head during an anxiety panic attack is hard to do, especially when you suffer from an anxiety disorder. However, if this is something you have to deal with for the rest of your life it’s important to learn stress management. Anxiety panic attacks come on fast so the best thing to do in most cases is to calm down and then lay down. Once you do this you can try and calm your mind by stating that it will pass and telling yourself that the pain you are feeling isn’t real. You can try and prevent panic attacks by learning what triggers them. Do they happen in certain situations or do negative thoughts bring them on?

You can take the controlling techniques to a higher level in order to get rid of your anxiety panic attacks. You can start out by teaching yourself relaxation practices. You’ll want to choose something that’s appropriate for you. Some of the more popular choices are listening to relaxing music, reading and practicing yoga. Once you learn what an anxiety panic attack is and what to do to control them your life should be on the road to recovery. Anxiety disorders can make life complicated but with a clear head and a lot of determination you should be able to handle whatever they throw your way!

Suffering from anxiety changes your life. Whereas once you were able to go out and have fun without any trouble, suddenly a routine trip to the grocery store seems insurmountable. You panic at the thought of leaving your home or speaking to others. It is a debilitating condition but there is help and there is hope for a better quality of life. It takes courage to be able to admit that you have a problem and it takes even more to seek out help. It is help that you desperately need. You can end your anxiety yourself. Click here to get rid of your panic attacks today.

Stress is one of the most common forms of anxiety. Stress and other related problems are present in nearly every person alive in varying degrees. There are actually several different kinds of stress, some of which are more dangerous than others. It is important to keep stress under control with proper stress management so that it does not take over an otherwise healthy life.

There are many different types of stress and similar disorders. Some forms of stress are not as serious, but some can cause health risks. Too much stress can lead to other issues, such as cardiovascular and digestive problems, eating disorders and sleep disorders. Large amounts of stress cause a person to constantly think about the pressure that they are under, which in turn never allows them to relax. This eventually becomes harmful to the body, as it is in a constant state of agitation. Stress is something that affects nearly everyone at some time or another and there are many causes, such as worries about jobs, finances, family and other things. When left untreated, stress can build to such a point that it has a adverse influence on entire families. The most important thing to remember about stress is that it is necessary to deal with it every day so that it does not build into a monster of an issue.

If you suspect that someone you know is suffering from too much stress, or you feel that you are under too much stress, then it might be a good idea to read health guides to properly diagnose what you or your loved ones might be going through. The best way to live a stress free life is to learn to let things go. Of course, this can often be extremely hard to do, which is why stress management is a very popular form of therapy. If a stress problem is suspected, then be sure to contact a health professional for an expert diagnosis.

Stress and related disorders can sometimes be the trigger to much more serious health issues. Stress management can help avoid these issues, but not everyone knows how to do this. Sometimes doctors will give out antidepressants to persons under a great deal of stress. Since this is something that strikes everyone, treatment is very important. Health professionals are the best resource for advice and guidance.

The Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety was founded by Lucinda Bassett, who shares the story of her 20-year battle with anxiety and depression through the Center as a way of helping others who suffer from stress and anxiety.

Lucinda Bassett’s Story

Lucinda Bassett’s story is well known, but it bears reporting here since the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety would not exist were it not for her. Throughout her childhood, Ms. Bassett experienced symptoms of anxiety and depression. She worried constantly about everything, even as a child whether her family would suffer some accident or tragedy, and whether she was suffering from some illness or disease.

According to Ms. Bassett, her anxiety became intolerable when she was in her twenties, suffering panic attacks on a daily basis. She suffered from stress symptoms that included a rapid heart beat, nausea, tension headaches, and other stress related disorders. Although she saw a number of health care professionals in an attempt to treat her anxiety, no one had the answer. Indeed, it is hard to imagine that a person in such a predicament could ever rise to become the founder of a prestigious organization like the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety.

One day, while watching the Today Show, Ms. Bassett heard a guest on the show describing the personality characteristics that make up an anxiety disorder. She recognized aspects of her own personality perfectionism, intelligence, negativity, creativity, high expectations, need to be in control, obsessive thinker in the description she heard on TV. The more she listened, the more she heard herself described, in the physical symptoms and fearfulness and other psychological symptoms of anxiety.

Ms. Bassett began a course of self-study to learn more about her disorder, and eventually she began to develop stress management techniques on her own that were later implemented in the treatment philosophy of the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety.

Coincidentally, around this time she also met a doctor who had treated others with the same problem, and he sought Ms. Bassett’s help in treating these people by helping with group therapy sessions. Thus, in 1984, Ms. Bassett and Dr. Phillip Fisher founded the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety.

As time passed, they began recording the therapy sessions and using them as one of the most effective behavior modification techniques known: repetition and reinforcement. They conducted free seminars, provided the recordings to many depressed people, and created a television infomercial for their techniques.

In psychology, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is defined as an anxiety disorder that may occur as a result of interaction with traumatic event. For the first time during war veterans, post traumatic stress disorder receives mass attention. When an individual is experiencing post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), it means somehow his or her physical or psychological existence has been threatened.

An individual having PTSD may be a victim of rape, accident, disaster, child abuse, tortured, mugging or anything that offers a fear-provoking stimuli. In this article, let us focus on the important information on post traumatic stress disorder including its prevalence, symptoms and treatment.

Prevalence

To date, over 7.7 million American adults are affected by post traumatic stress disorder. There is no specific age for the onset of this anxiety disorder. It can even occur during childhood. Although PTSD may occur to both male and female, there is still a gender difference, female are at higher risk for developing PTSD compared to male.

In fact, the likelihood of this disorder in women (10.4%) is twice than men (5%). Research has shown that this disorder may have been linked to genetic predisposition as well. In most of the cases, PTSD is overlapped with certain other conditions like depression, other form of anxiety disorders or substance abuse.

Symptoms

Since the experience is truly personalized, few symptoms may vary from person to person. Common symptoms may involve emotional numbness; lack of interest; being easily frightened; poor quality of sleep; lack of concentration; recurrent, dramatic, distressing memories; flashbacks; intense fear about personal safety without any apparent cause; not being able to explain the problem.

Many individuals with post traumatic stress disorder may experience nightmares at the time they are sleeping. Not everyone develops full-blown symptoms of PTSD just after the incident, in fact, the problem progresses within 3 months and emerges even after long years. Even an ordinary incident may trigger out the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder.

Treatment

Post traumatic stress disorder can be treated with a combination of medication and psychotherapy. Medications once started can not be terminated abruptly. Abrupt termination may lead to severe complications on time. In order to improve the effectiveness, individuals with post traumatic stress disorder must join self-help support group, where he or she will be able to receive support from people suffering from the same complication.

Different stress management techniques like relaxation, breathing therapy, meditation, yoga can offer benefit. Recovery from anxiety disorder of any sort including PTSD needs sensitive cooperation from family members. So, if you have someone in your family going through the same crisis, take action now to offer a friendly hand.
