Repeated exposure of the hippocampus damages it, and this is one of the earliest causes of Alzheimer’s at a later stage.

Because of all this stress can cause memory loss. Your body and brain should not be subjected to long periods of stress and it is important to control your stress levels. Stress effects the brain cells negatively and memory loss happens in the long run. It is important to keep the body free from as much stress as possible. Sometimes you can recover memories that were lost by continuous stress or brain damage but it is very difficult. If the brain was subjected to too much stress however your memories may be lost forever. Try to control your stress levels to prevent this from happening.

If you keep your stress under control then you are less likely to lose your memory.
